Staying Safe, Sustainably

During the course of the pandemic, it is estimated that as many as 129 billion disposable face masks could be thrown away every month, harming biodiversity, the economy and our health. Help us change this. When you purchase your VIDA Masks, we will provide you with an easy way to return used masks for recycling.

Receive

Your order will arrive with a pre-paid label that allows you to send back your used masks to VIDA. Save the outer envelope that your masks arrive in. You will need to reuse it to return your used masks.

Send Back

Once you’ve used all your masks, place them back in the envelope they arrived in, and place the pre-paid return shipping label over the original label on the envelope.

Repeat

If you chose our Repeat Delivery option, repeat this process monthly. Note: Due to safety regulations, used masks cannot be recycled through any municipal collection service. Please send them back through this program to ensure masks are recycled responsibly.

Using a VIDA PM2.5 Mask

CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies). VIDA’s reusable masks follow CDC’s guidelines for cloth face masks with a 5 layered activated carbon PM2.5 filter and adjustable tie straps.

CDC recommends that face coverings -

Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face

Be secured with ties or ear loops

Include multiple layers of fabric

Allow for breathing without restriction

Additional CDC Recommendations:

Wear cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies).

Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

Cloth face coverings are not replacements for surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders, as recommended by current CDC guidance.
